Probabilmente perché se ne fosse stata a conoscenza prima, niente di tutto ciò sarebbe successo. Lei non si sarebbe trovata a capo degli dèi, lei non avrebbe rischiato di perdere tutti i suoi amici, lei, figlia di Ade, non avrebbe lasciato che suo padre, l'uomo più importante della sua vita, morisse. Invece tutto era andato storto, fin dall'inizio. Sua madre l'aveva abbandonata e forse era stato quello il fattore scatenante. Glaphyra non aveva altre spiegazioni, o forse non voleva trovarle. Non è mai semplice sopportare la perdita di qualcuno che ci ama e che a nostra volta amiamo. Si cerca di trovare un motivo, un inutile, minuscolo, futile motivo che faccia pensare che forse la colpa non è solo nostra, perché sì, noi ci crediamo responsabili. Una parola di troppo, un gesto avventato o anche solo un consiglio sbagliato ci fa sentire in colpa. Così si sente la figlia di Ade. Non riesce a credere che lui l'abbia lasciata così facilmente come aveva fatto sua madre. Quella donna che mai lei aveva conosciuto o solo sentito nominare. Quella donna che non si era mai fatta viva, anche solo per dirle un semplice SCUSA o TI VOGLIO BENE. Quella donna che non si era presentata durante la cerimonia di addio di suo padre. Quella donna spregevole e senza cuore che si era allontanata il più lontano possibile da Glaphyra. No, lei non se ne sarebbe stata con le mani incrociate, seduta su quello stupido torno ad aspettare che sua madre, chiunque essa fosse, si facesse viva. Era già passato troppo tempo e quando il tempo passa, niente e nessuno lo possono far tornare indietro.

Glaphyra è una dea, o almeno deve diventarlo. I suoi poteri sono sorprendenti e al di fuori di ogni limite, ma lei non ne è a conoscenza. Ha un vuoto di memoria e non ricorda quasi niente del suo passato tranne suo padre. Ade. Re degli Inferi, dal quale era stata sottratta a pochi secoli di vita. Sentiva sempre la sua mancanza e Zeus non la faceva stare meglio. Non c'era giorno in cui il dio non insultasse suo padre e Glaphyra non riusciva a stare zitta. Era nata per rispondere. Questa era la sua situazione, non una delle migliori. Sull'Olimpo, lei non aveva amici e non era mai stata simpatica a nessuno ma a lei non interessa. L'unica cosa che voleva era ritrovare suo padre. Non era semplice, però, riuscire a scappare da Zeus, soprattutto se tenuta sotto controllo da due dèi: uno moro e un biondo. E se un giorno, anzi precisamente il giorno del suo compleanno lei riuscisse a scappare e si rifugiasse nel mondo degli umani senza sapere cosa fare? Ecco come si ritroverà ad essere ricercata dall'intera stirpe degli dèi e non solo...
