Därför så skyller alla på familjen Rosenwood att dom har tagit med sig Djävulen till deras lilla by på grund av att blixten har slagit ned på ett och samma ställe sen dom kom tillbaks. Ethan bor med sin moster Lisa på grund av att hans mamma och pappa är döda och Lena's föräldrar med så hon bor med sin morfar macon, gammelmormor, kusinen Linus och sin gammel farmor i ett stort gammalt hus. Innan dom ans hade träffat varandra så hade dom ändå haft skumma drömmar om varandra... Ps. Denna bok inspireras av en film.
