Long ago, a species called Pokémon inhabited every corner of the earth, from the depths of the ocean to the atmosphere. They roamed the fields and swam in ponds. They rested in trees and flew overhead. They even thrived alongside humans, or so research says. The Pokémon then vanished without a trace. They left nothing behind except the technology that people had used to study them. Those machines now decorated museums all across the lone country named Inridia in order to immerse the population in the history of the world. The humans that lived during that same time period were also never seen or heard from again. Frost Statice -- son of a wealthy politician and student at one of Inridia's most prestigious academies -- was skeptic to believe the old stories. He thought they were nothing more than myths, for how could such a race have existed in such an ordinary universe? But when Frost encounters one of the creatures first hand, his perspective is forced to change. To uncover the truth behind the Pokémon's disappearance, he must dig deep into the history of Inridia itself. -------- ♔ 1st Place in the Adventure Category of the 2018 Pokémon Watty Awards ♔ Highest Ranking: #5 in Adventure, #5 in Action ♔ Best Protagonist, Most Deserving of a Sequel, and Pushing Boundaries in the 2018 Pokémon Watty Awards -------- ♔ Cover credit goes to the amazing @ImberLapis

I'm updating a revised version of this story on AO3 to finish it out, so check that out if you'd like to see how I'd write it now! The old version is here, for those who enjoy it :) Eclipse the Darkling has had a rough life, and it's about to get harder--due to his own choice. When constantly running from G.U.N. becomes too much for the young alien, he contacts Commander Abraham Tower with a proposition that could very well lead to the salvation of his race. Eclipse is prepared to deal with humans, Mobians, and the limits of their lifestyles. There's only one problem that's too much for him to handle: his half-brother. How can the darkling function in an already challenging situation with his blood relative only making things harder? Eclipse just wants Shadow to leave him alone, but fate doesn't seem to feel the same way. When a villainous organization threatens the world and Shadow's life, the darkling realizes that he has to focus on the larger threat. The two must work together to protect their friends--but Eclipse is still on the fence about family. An emotional roller coaster, Brothers in Arms takes a closer look into a shattered relationship that can't be fixed with a simple 'sorry,' exploring the blurred lines of good and evil and the importance of family and friends. Credit for the characters goes to SEGA and Archie Comics, and credit for the plot and cover goes to me. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it!

Samuel Brandt woke up with his thoughts written all over his body. His brother woke up with his head missing. His sister woke up to find that her skin would crack open unless she stayed in water. All of the other children in the secluded Iowa town of Oak Knoll woke up having undergone strange transformations. Now, they are all forced to live at 407 West Marshall Street, the mysterious house outside of town. With the new name of The Boy with Words for Skin, Samuel wants nothing more than to hide from his new life. He painfully and unpredictably sheds his skin, there is a Voice in the entryway closet that is often cruel, and-perhaps worst of all for a naturally shy boy-the other children look to him as a leader. As his seven-year-old brother struggles with their new life, as terrifying growls start to come from the pitch black basement, and as his feelings for a girl begin to grow, The Boy with Words for Skin realizes that he wants to change. He wants to put others first, learn from his peers, and let himself hope that things will get better. The Boy with Words for Skin is the first book in the 407 West Marshall Street series. Each book will advance the story but be told from a different character. Book 2 will be The Girl without Eyes.
