This doesn't 100% follow the original Xtale story even before the babifacation of Gaster. When a pure yet genius soul dies at the same moment one of Xtale Gaster's overwrites goes wrong. Being reborn in XGaster's now baby body they don't gain any of his memories and are highly confused about the scene before them. Bill is a giddy, excitable skeleton on the outside. But, behind that façade is a normal skeleton that has too much to hide. When Nightmare calls for a gang reunion, Bill jumps at the idea.
