Something is creeping through the systems, and a dark shadow has befallen cyberspace. After Red rescued Ember from the clutches of her father, and almost died in the process, he is recuperating on New Elysium. Their moment of respite is brief, as a series of mysterious glitches soon spread throughout the systems of the colony, and a bounty is set on Ember's head for betraying her Neo-Tokyan heritage. An unexpected reunion with a former friend turned enemy leaves Nova injured and grounded on New Elysium as well. As Amy embarks on a mad off-world quest to find a rare piece of hardware needed to save him, dragging Red along with her, Nova and Ember are left to deal with the fallout from the resurrection of an evil that several years ago, led to the Purge of all augments. The Special, the first book in "The Pessimistic" series written by Stella W, is a fantasy book. It includes magic and drama, war, and death. If you are sensitive to certain language as in profanity-or certain topics like death, war, torture, etc-please do not read this tale. You have been warned. A/N- Hello. I would like to say that the description was more of 'what you're supposed to expect in the series' rather than the plot in a nutshell. There is a prologue in this book and it will be ONGOING! Ongoing means that I will release it chapter by chapter-or part by part. And Always remember. This is only the first book in the series so it will not be as 'good' or 'dramatic' as the others. Why? Because we need a beginning before a climax. Anyway. Thank you very much for reading and I PROMISE I will go to thorough details to describe this tale in the prologue. Thank you again- xx Stella W. Being a marine was all Jules wanted to be, despite her parents reservations. However, being caught in an explosion in Afghanistan, Jules is sent home with no memory of her time there or the love she found overseas. Now, two years later, Julia is working in the local library, with an overprotective mother who would do anything to keep her from learning the truth. But will a chance encounter with someone from her past make Julia remember who she truly is -and can she ever be the same person again? Just a few notes: 1. My knowledge of the Armed Forces is limited so expect mistakes although I shall try my best to make everything as accurate as possible. 2. I have recently posted the prequel to this book called 'Seven Years'. 3.This book is dedicated to all the men and women who put themselves in harms way to serve their country, wherever they may be; past and present.

Every bridal party has that one girl who manages to turn the joy of a dream wedding into an absolute nightmare. Shana Benedict doesn't see the problem with that. Here's a riddle: What two words are the most fun to say, but are the most horrifying to hear? Give up? The answer is: "I'm engaged." And just so you know, this story isn't about me getting to say them. It's not that I'm jealous or anything. Well, okay, yes. I'm a little jealous that my best friend is getting married. But it's not like I'm going out of my way to sabotage her wedding or anything because of it. I just don't spend every waking moment focused on the thing. If my best friend in the entire world can't understand that, it's not my problem. I have a life of my own, you know. I mean, I'm getting married, too! Someday. And trust me, when I do, my wedding is going to be awesome. I've already got the groom picked out and everything. (He just doesn't know it yet.) Livia thinks I'm being ridiculous. I think she's being selfish. I mean, who says this entire year has to be about her? Like I'm just supposed to drop everything and be a slave for the next twelve months? Yeah right. If that makes me The Girl You Love to Hate, so be it. I don't care what anyone thinks. I know I'm better than that. AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is not a sweet, romantic love story. It's a cringing, screaming, throw-the-book-across-the-room story. It's also a standalone, but reading "Down the Shore" first is highly suggested. READ WHEN YOU'RE IN THE MOOD FOR: Validation, angst, snark, and ripping your hair out. Consider yourself warned.
