Es una de las tragedias más celebres de Federico García Lorca. Esta obra se basa en la vida de dos familias las cuales están llenas de desgracias. Por una parte esta el novio y la madre, que ha perdido a su marido y a uno de sus hijos por culpa de la otra familia; los Félix. Ésta otra, tampoco tiene muchas felicidadesporque Leonardo aun esta enamorado de la novia, una joven con la estuvo saliendo durante tres años y aun estando casado y con un hijo, no a podido olvidarla. El tema en que gira la mayor parte de la obra es el futuro matrimonio que unirá al novio con la novia. Pero el drama está presente e impedirá que este matrimonio llegue a una estabilidad. La novia, que guardaba su amor por Leonardo en el olvido, vuelve a despertar cuando ve a Leonardo el día de su boda. Finalmente el novio y la novia se casan, pero al poco rato, la novia y Leonardo se escapan juntos para hacer realidad su sueño de estar juntos. El novio los persigue por el bosque hasta que los encuentra y entonces, en una lucha entre Leonardo y el novio, los dos terminan muriendo.
