Spock and Jim have beamed down to a deserted planet to gather a crystal (which has hallucinatory effects, making you have vivid flashbacks to traumatic events in your past). On their way back to the ship, they find out the transporter is broken and their radios are being messed up from the everlasting storm that circles the planet. The only person that did, was Doctor Leonard McCoy, Who may or may not have given purposely gotten Spock sick, just to help nudge his friends together.
