Or, perhaps it was simply because he did not know that his heart would beat in such a frenzy, that his cheeks would redden like a crimson rose, and that his normally-calm facade would melt under the simple gaze of the time-travelling heroine. If I were to bet, I'd say it's the latter. But it matters not why Voldemort could not love, for this is not a story about Voldemort. This is the story of Tom Marvolo Riddle, and how he came into direct conflict and company with the 'brightest witch of her age' ... fifty-years ahead. This is the story of love's recognition, in which the force does not suddenly develop between two people, but a poignant emotion, different for each individual, is uniquely described to be 'love.' Maybe Tom Riddle never loved, much like that of Voldemort. This story depicts my interpretation of Severus' experience during the most significant events that occurred during the first four years of Harry's time at Hogwarts. This idea stemmed from Chapter 8 of 'Leave Me' where I was meant to cover years 1 to 4 of Harry’s schooling from Severus’ point of view. My goal was to briefly explore the role Severus played in the significant events Harry experienced during the first four years of his time at Hogwarts. What was originally meant to be a normal-sized chapter has become a story almost in and of itself. It was not long before I realised just how much Severus would have contributed (behind the scenes) during those four years, and I wanted to do it justice. So, instead of posting Chapter 8 of 'Leave Me' as one large chapter under the cross-over story, I thought it may be something other readers would be interested in reading, so decided to create a new story: ‘The Struggles of a Spy’. Please note that you do NOT need to read ‘Leave Me’ to understand this story as it is purely canon based. The only (slight) exception to this will be chapters 3 and 4, but I will explain this when I manage to post up these chapters.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione return to Hogwarts with Ginny to finish their 7th year. Convinced to go by the constant 'persuading' of Hermione and the nagging of Mrs. Weasley. What happens when Harry finds out that not all of his family is Dead? Will he accept the man who he's come to know as one of the bravest and most loyal followers of Albus Dumbledore? Or will he reject him? After the War the Golden Trio decided to return to Hogwarts for their last year of school. Severus Snape wasn't killed by Nagini bite, he got very close to losing his life, but fortunately with the help of Hermione and Madam Promfrey he made a full recovery, and chose to take his position back as Potions Master. Also Remus and Tonks didn't die in the battle. You will see why later. That is if you read on. There may be a few others who didn't die.. not sure yet though Sorry.. I suck at these... you'll have to read it to see if you like it!
