In the summer of 1961, after the Beatles' new manager Brian Epstein arranged a couple of gigs over in Florida for the lads, nineteen-year-old Paul McCartney's fortune seemed to have run out abruptly. After his flight took him to the wrong state, his dad refused to listen to his desperate cries for help, and his bandmates expected him to make it to Florida in time for their show, Paul was left to walk the dreadfully long distance there, alone in a foreign country. But then, after stopping for a break in a diner, waitress Lena Grant, whose originally hopeful future was ruined by her careless family, heard his story and responded after her uncle finally infuriated her to the point of pushing her over the edge. Stealing his car and speeding off to give Paul the ride he needed to Florida, the two developed a relationship and bond like no other as their incredibly reckless journey progressed.

❝I can't love you,❞ he spoke lightly. How I had yearned for him - how I had begged and pleaded for him, how my strength had fallen at the foot of my door when he walked away, how at the last I could only whimper, ❝I knew it.❞ - in which one fateful night, a stubborn girl stumbles upon an enticing young man, but things seem a little too familiar...
