The original story, by Charlotte Brontë, is probably one of the most excruciatingly wonderful love stories ever. Jane's harsh, but notably moral life is something that not many people of this day can relate to. Most of us can relate to Edward. His imperfectness counteracts Jane's immovable moral compass. But, in the end, they are made for each other. We know that they go on to get married, have a child, and then Edward goes on to see, partially, again. They have been married for ten years when the book ends. This story is about what happened to them from their wedding day and so on....

This is one of those 'what if' adaptations. I've always wondered why Mr Rochester had to be broken so thoroughly before he could be happy with Jane Eyre. What if she had not been able to get away, what if he had been waiting by her door a second time, pleading her to stay? Would she indeed have lost herself and been made his mistress?

Jane Eyre is the story of a poor young naïve governess who falls in love with her employer - the master of Thornfield Hall. However, the man of her dreams is not what she believed him to be. Once she realizes her mistake she flees far away leaving everything behind. We've read this tale time and again but what if Mr. Rochester didn't lose his eyesight or hand and what if Jane accepted St. John's proposal? Would Mr. Rochester be able stop Jane from marrying St. John? Will it be too late? Will Mr. Rochester lose Jane again? This is a retelling of the classic gothic romantic story penned by Charlotte Brontë with an alternate ending. *I don't own any characters all the characters are created by Charlotte Bronte*
