The Druids left their home for the Surfaceworld. With them they brought four magical treasures, the most powerful being the Stone of Fal. The gods promised that as long as the stone was kept safe and whole, no prophecy could ever be divined for or against them.
The Fomorians, a race of chaos monsters banished from the Otherworld, waited. With the Stone of Fal, they could create a prophecy that would allow them to reenter the Otherworld. Perhaps they could even challenge the gods. Led by Lord Balor of the Red Eye, they attacked the Druids on the plains of Mag Tuired. During the battle, King Nuada, king of the Druids, failed to protect the Stone of Fal by allowing Balor's red eye to burn it. It was then the prophecy was cast. King Nuada and Lord Balor, along with a few key others, were destined to return to resume the battle of Mag Tuired until King Nuada and the Druids successfully protected the Stone.
The soul of King Nuada returns in the year 2015, along with the threat of the Fomorians. As the prophecy foretold, Nuada returned when his vessel, a boy named Alan Carlisle, turned 15. Immediately, strange things start happening. It begins with someone breaking into his room and engraving 15 on the window stool. That same night, his small town of New Island, Metropolis makes international news due to video footage of a mysterious purple fog creeping in from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Then, his mother disappears without word.
It's pure coincidence that a Fomorian by the name of Eric shows up to Alan's hometown, drowning its citizens in order to collect their souls for his underwater prison. Along with the help from his friends, Alan must retrieve the Sword of Light from Eaden in order to defeat Eric. With the Sword of Light in hand, Alan claims his right he didn't even know he had: to reign as king of the Druids. The problem is, he's a teenager who doesn't know how to even begin to tap into his druidry. Meanwhile, Lord Balor is watching.
