This is a continuation of my other book, In the End, but it can be read without reading the previous one, so here is a small filler on their relationship. Wednesday and Xavier are already planning on spending their lives together, through many trials and tribulations, they have prevailed. Mercoledì Addams è incerta sul suo ritorno all'istituto, ma cambia idea quando avverte dei cattivi presentimenti riguardo la scuola e decide di tornare tra le braccia del pericolo per trovarne la fonte, il suo tipo di divertimento preferito. Non in tanti sono già a Nevermore, ma per sua sorpresa trova una faccia conosciuta: Xavier Thorpe. I due si ritrovano ad investigare sul nuovo mistero di Nevermore, ma qualcosa scatta: si accorgono di essere più simili di quanto sembra, due anime in burrasca, due tempeste che si scatenano quando si stanno vicini.
