Being confined to the borders of the not so interesting village of Chronest, Olivia Denter tries to make the best of life by helping the villagers as much as she can. This task is only made easier by her ability to create ice at will. However, being one of the last few mages left in the world, she feels quite lonely sometimes, since she has nobody to relate to. This all changes when a boy named Steven Kaynes appears and reveals his own magical abilities of generating lightning. Olivia is overjoyed to find a friend who understand her. Though he hides his past, and tends to keep secrets, the two of them become friends quite quickly. After a few years of bonding and growing up in the peaceful village together, Steven decides suddenly to go visit an elven friend of his, and Olivia decided to, for the first time in her life, go with him and explore the world outisde of the village. Though the outisde world may not be as friendly as she first believed.

Being haunted by nightmares from her near death in the Elven forest of Leafa, Olivia struggles to sleep at night. Though with Steven's comforts, she manages to stay by. This, however, is tainted as an unknown yet extremely powerful man named Dustan shows up one night to tell Steven his brother is still alive. To have any chance to meet with the believed-to-be late Fredrick Clipium, the pair of mages would have to win a fighting tournament in the far away city of Arena.

Supposedly dying in a car crash, Eli comes face to face with a woman who appears to be a goddess. At the same time, the remainder of the Dorean kingdom alliance group is trying to get into contact with professor Chromestill, in order to get a body for Lillian, yet without backing from the Fynlone kingdom this might prove more difficult than expected. Not only that, but internally inside of the Fynlone mage squad, a twisted cat and mouse game is happening of lies and betrayal, with the eldest son of Clipium having a difficult choice laid out before him.
