"There's not a whole lot of magic left anymore, is there? The witches are melted, Cinderella's dead, and the Wolves are endangered. The fey left." ★ "Not all of them," Tilly said with a smile. ★★★ "ABC's 'ONCE UPON A TIME' meets 'SARAH, PLAIN AND TALL'" Hard times have come to Grimland since Queen Cinderella's death nearly 60 years ago, and nobody feels it more than Tilly Lafayette and her family. Despite their propensity for magic, they're just scraping by in Coleville, a deeply superstitious little smudge of a town in the foothills of the Sesmi mountains. When Mama's chronic illness suddenly worsens, Tilly must use her most powerful spell to save her, but to do so she has to leave behind everything she's ever known. ★★★ THE SEAM SORCERESS is a journey through some of the world's most beloved stories, re-imagined through the lens of Appalachian culture and Americana. Leigh Heasley (2017 Watty award winner and author of "Kairos," optioned for a TV series by eOne entertainment) weaves in personal memories and her family's unique history alongside the magic in this deeply personal tale.

"You and I both know that any girl would kill to be in your position, with me, right now." He smirks, knowing that what he's said is completely and utterly true. Lea Wilson and River Parker don't mix; they don't like the same things, their lives are majorly different. But, what if these two people who are least expected to spend time with each other are doing exactly that? And, not only at school but at home as well. After Lea's house falls apart due to a termite infestation, the Wilson's are invited to stay at an old family friend's mansion of a house. The family friend also happens to be River's father. [Completed] Elysia's life is turned upside-down when she's abducted by supernatural creatures with demonic eyes and threatening fangs. What's worse is she has no idea what it is they want from her, except that it has something to do with a side of her that she's never known. The chances of Elysia getting out alive are slim, but perhaps with a bit of luck and a lot of bravery she can escape with more than just her life. Excerpt: ''What trick is this?'' The creature asked, but it didn't sound like a vicious question. He sounded... confused. When I didn't answer, he appeared in front of me, snatching my face in his hand once more and growling. ''What is that on your back?'' ''I don't know,'' I blindly answered, but corrected myself quickly when his grip tightened dangerously, ''It's a birth mark, the doctors called it a... a Lichtenberg figure. My mother said I was born with it, I swear it, even though it's usually what happens when you survive being struck-'' ''-by lightning.'' My eyes were literally glowing, there was no mistaking it. It was not a reflection of light, or any of the other excuses I had used or others had assumed. They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow. Glowing eyes were not normal. Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal. They call her Red. An expert in poisons and deception, the small girl has brought armies to their knees without once lifting a blade. A vermillion haired monster hidden behind the face of a doll. ~~ I smiled up at the men, "Would you like a cookie?" They peered into the basket I held out, spotting the heart shaped treats. "They're cinnamon with apple Jam. I do promise they are to die for." The taller mans eyes narrowed, "did you give the poor fool dead on the road a cookie?" My lips parted, "a dead man? Oh my..do you think it is safe?" "..depends on who you are miss, why did you say you were in the woods again?" I smiled gently, "I didn't." He rose a brow. "I'm delivering these," I shook the basket a bit, "to my dearest grandmama." He hesitated for only a slight second, "oh. well. be careful then. These woods can be dangerous." I nodded once still holding out the basket, "so would you?" "Would we what?" I giggle a bit, "like a cookie silly." "Ah.." he scratched the back of his head, "sorry, I'm not too fond of apples." Damn it. I sighed softly, "strawberry next time then." "Right..." As I turned to go I looked up at the two tall men, "you be careful now too gentleman. There are wolves in these woods." They nodded rigidly as I spun and began to skip off, giggling to myself. He asked the wrong question. I didn't give the dead fool a cookie. I gave him two.

In a world of monsters and gods, the Lupus Deus is the one being no one wants among them, especially not the gods that wronged him. Vivian Grey is as average as any werewolf comes, or at least that's what she believes growing up until she is confronted with the fact that her mate is the monster she heard stories about growing up. It doesn't take her long to realize that he is as cruel as whispered, as unfeeling as he is complex, and far more monstrous than believed. When push comes to shove she'll have to learn to navigate her own strength or risk being drowned in his. As a war between her mate and the gods that made him take place, love, might just easily become a double-edged sword.
