coffee cake (n): a class of cakes intended to be eaten alongside coffee "She was like the coffee cakes you steal away at breakfast, the ones that stand alone without coffee to drink, the ones that are so sweet they rot your teeth from the inside before you realize. She was my coffee cake, but now she's my cavity." +=+=+=+=+ An experiment in writing. This project is all about reader interaction. It's the 21st century, so why can't readers get a little more control over what they read? It's time to change that. With this book, I will start and complete a full-length story based on crowd sourced suggestions. The catch? I will be speeding through the project and writing as fast as humanly possible, so readers will be able to see their suggestions come to life almost immediately. Don't worry, the quality won't suffer much. I've honed my writing and did one of those fancy college thingies for about four years, so I'll keep it as engaging as possible with as few major errors as possible. Anyone who wants to contribute or suggest an idea is welcome to leave a comment. If you ever thought about a story idea that you want to read but won't ever write, come make it happen with this book! I will incorporate as many as I can without turning the story into a joke, and hopefully everyone will win at the end! Learn more about this project inside!

Nora's the lead singer of Peacock, vying to win the battle of the bands at her small liberal arts college, but every time she's on stage her attention is on someone who's always in the crowd - a certain Ava who doesn't realize they share the same hometown in Mississippi. Nora fantasizes a future with her childhood crush, but Ava's map of romance doesn't even include her - although Nora's been working at changing that. Unfortunately, when a stray acoustic cover of one of Peacock's songs goes viral, Ava snatches the opportunity to ask the boy in the video on a date, and Nora is left in an awkward position as her confidante. As the pressure of keeping her secret grows, Nora struggles with the decision to finally confess her feelings, but there's one thing stopping her: She just so happens to be the boy in the video. -- All individuals, incidents, and institutions are a work of fiction. SYTYCW Top 25 Finalist 2014 Cassidy's bartending job and dreams of being a professional dancer give her a strict no romance attitude, especially since her mother's recent passing. Elliot, on the other hand, is a savant when it comes to charming the ladies, but he makes his intentions clear. He'd much rather harass his best friend and make money doing graphic designs than have a steady relationship. However, trouble brews when these two self-sufficient individuals are thrust together in the midst of their friends' life-defining discoveries of heritage, sexuality, and loyalty. They say spring is for new love... But fires blaze in autumn. 🍂 Our Autumn Fire is a contemporary romance with elements of the literary genre. Touching on themes of self identity, heritage, and sexuality, the story follows a group of six individuals juggling major life changes and the curve balls that come with them. Elliot Quentin is a freelance designer with a side of him that never left the party days of college behind. Struggling with a new client who may have just spawned from hell, he finds solace in his interactions with the quiet, but spunky Cassidy Latton. Cassidy is a bartender vying to join a prestigious dance troupe and fulfill her dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Although she's still affected by her mother's passing, she is able to be the rock for her two roommates: Hayley Patel and Alicia Lang. Hayley works with a company that likes to run her ragged, but that's hardly her focus. She's been having thoughts about trying to find her biological parents, and her childhood friend Wesley Holter may have just convinced her to do it. Wesley Holter loves being a teacher at the local high school, but when his roommate and college buddy Elliot makes a stupid joke about him on campus, his world turns upside down. Meanwhile, Alicia despairs over her long time boyfriend Andre Soto. Quiet, shifty, and just a bit suspicious, his actions may just tear them apart.
