Während dem zweiten Weltkrieg kämpften die Geschwister an der Seite von Steves engsten Freund Bucky Barnes gegen den Feind. Als im Jahr 1943 Bucky und Mia während einem Einsatz verunglückten, hatte es Steve recht schwer damit klarzukommen. Um sich abzulenken vom Verlust seiner Schwester und seines besten Freundes unternahm Steve mehrer Missionen, bis auch er 1944 verschwand. 70 Jahre später - Steve erkannte seinen besten Freund und seine Schwester kaum wieder, sie konnten sich an nichts mehr erinnern und man hatte sie zu eiskalten Killermaschinen gemacht. Nun musste Steve irgendwie versuchen das sich die beiden wieder erinnerten, doch dies war leichter gesagt als getan...
