Loss changes you until suddenly you aren't the same person you were before, as if those who passed were a critical part of you. And nearly no one can help you heal. Not for a while. Until one person finds their way into your life, one person who could change anything and everything you needed to change. Until one person finds a way to consume all of your thoughts so that none of the negative ones are left. Until one person takes the time to give you time to fix yourself, because God knows no one else will. Until one person loves you more firmly than anyone ever has and makes the stars seem dark in comparison to them. Until one person makes you love them, and every scar on their face, freckle on their nose, and imperfection that makes them even more perfect. Only then will you truly be healed.
