Beca walks up the front of the steps to the porch of the Bella House. She takes a deep breathe her head to the ground. She closes her eyes, losing the blue color. Uneasy her hand lifts, it shaking. Before she can knock the door swings open. Beca's eyes open and her head lifts to lock eyes with Chloe's. A smile inched onto the ginger's lips. "Hey, everything alright?" Chloe asks, her smile quickly fading. Beca steps back onto the porch watching as Chloe steps out, taking the door with her. The ginger's arms cross over her chest as she questions Beca with her eyes and the tilt of her head. "Chlo, we need to talk," Beca begins biting her lip.

When Chloe and her family decide to move to the other side of the world, Beca is devastated. Without Chloe, she felt so down and lonely. She was worried that she would get replaced as soon as Chloe arrived in her new hometown, as she was beautiful enough to make new friends straight away. After a few days, Beca struggles to cope without her friend, and while Chloe asks if everything's okay, she always told her everything was fine, but after a while, Chloe realises that Beca is hiding something from her, and she begs her parents to let her go to see Beca for a week. She couldn't bear not seeing her friend anymore, and it broke her heart so much when she found out exactly what was going on in Beca's life. When Beca first looks at the azure eyes of the most beautiful girl she's ever seen, her heart skips a beat, but she decides to ignore the butterflies in her stomach. A close, accidental encounter with the ocean-eyed Chloe in the shower and the fact that they both end up being part of the Bellas - one of the campus' major a cappella group - seem however to make it impossible for her to ignore her feelings. While she normally shuts everybody out, Chloe seems to be the only one Beca trusts herself to let in by showing her all of her most hidden sides and, completely oblivious of Chloe's feelings for her, they become best friends and grow closer and closer. As much as she would like to be more than friends with Chloe, Beca is afraid that admitting her feelings to her and being rejected would destroy their wonderful friendship.
