A hunger games fan fiction tale in Cato's P.O.V with some twists added in.

*Okay so this is a sequel to my book called a change in heart * so don't read this unless you read my first one or you will be really confused. :)))

Love, friendship, betrayal and trust. The 74th Annual Hunger Games has begun and Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are District 12's tributes. But what happens when Cato, a District 2 tribute, has a soft spot for Katniss? The games are about to get interesting, and they're going to be pushing the limits to fight for what they want.

What if Peeta and Katniss never teamed up? What if Katniss finds trust in the most unlikely person? When Katniss volunteers for her sister, her only thought is to make it back to Prim. But what if another tribute catches her eye? Can she survive the Hunger Games? Can she figure out her mixed feelings for Cato? From the book: "So I want to know what you think about something. " I say slowly. He looks up curiously. " What is it Katniss? " he asks looking into my eyes. I feel immediately guilty for what I am about to say, especially since he saved my life by giving me bread. "So I have been thinking this over in my head and it seems that this is the only choice I have in order to make it home to Prim." I start. "Katniss?..." He says. He doesn't like what I am saying and I haven't even gotten to the worst part yet. "I know you want to make it back home to your family and I know that you are a part of my District, but I need to make it home to Prim!" I say, tears threatening to fall, I feel awful for what I am doing. Peeta looked extremely worried by this point. "What's wrong? What happened- " I cut him off " I'm... I'm... joining...the careers."

After all Katniss has been through, starvation, the games, losing the boy she started to love to the monster from two, can Katniss learn how to love again, especially considering the circumstances?
