From the outside, looking in,
Life is a beautiful place;
But underneath this gilded face
Lies a dark and powerful twin.
Death reigns beneath it all
Lurking in life's shade
Watching all things fade,
and all things fall.
Despair laughs maniacally and waits,
Waits for the strength of humans
To fail and dissolve into ruins
It waits at Hell's gates
For those few who see
Beyond the ornate disguise
Of Life and Light, seeing Dusk's rise
We see Demise's debris
Will we ever feel anything except the ache?
Will we forever remain blind?
Or Will we someday find
Beauty in the Heartbreak?
