They were just one of WICKED's many awful experiments in hopes of finding a cure. When they were younger and under constant surveillance by WICKED, the experiment was mostly harmless. Small cuts and bruises which could be felt by the other person weren't an issue. It was when WICKED chose to begin putting people in the maze, putting their lives at stake, causing them to endure more than just physical pain was when things became dangerous. All characters, world/setting and other parts of story related to The Maze Runner belong to James Dashner.

When Y/N wakes up in a box with no recollection of her past life, she is greeted by a large group of boys, surrounded in the maze. She quickly makes friends with the gladers, and one in particular.
