Meyer Brant has lived in the Outlands his entire life. Sometimes Traders bring magical artifacts from the Great Realms and other far off lands, but otherwise he is removed from the kings, sorcerers and magical creatures of the world. When Laidu, a half-human, half-dragon Ranger, rescues a mysterious girl from slavers, he doesn't know it but he's in for a world of trouble. Teaming up with an insane scholar, a chatty assassin, and two mercenaries, they go to take the girl -Kyra- home. But as they begin to journey onward, they are pursued by a relentless, unkillable monster, hellbent on ending Kyra's life. And Laidu is hearing voices in his head, voices beckoning him to join them in madness, to give in to the dragon within. In this world of old magic and ancient struggles, the Wheel of Time meets Skyrim in a tale of courage, love, heroism, and atonement where old kings rise and immortals die.

"Hope, children, and never once let in. For it is written that a single candle can withstand the darkness, even now, in our most desperate hour." "Though the end days have come at last, and the sun falls for the last time beyond the dim horizon, we must still have hope, being that the unlikeliest of heroes and the greatest and most difficult of adventures can emerge from the darkest of days." ~*~ The gods are silent, and the people's desperate prayers of healing and aid go mysteriously unanswered. Rumors and talk of monstrous, horrific dragons killing anything in sight are whispered in taverns and pubs, with the added murmurs of draconic creatures that stand on two feet like a man followed close behind. When the elven capital of Lyrenbel is destroyed and half its population slaughtered, a chain of events suddenly brings together a disgraced knight, an old dwarf, a mage that hides his insecurities behind a mask of arrogance, a traumatized Sylvari and an orphaned Sylvanaar, and sets them forth on a path that none of them ever wanted to be on. They are expected to be saviors, heroes that come from a child's bedtime story. But they are not fighting against a normal dragon, or other mythical creature. They are fighting against an all powerful god. They carry the weight of the world on their shoulders as they begin walking down their long and winding road, yet they will fight until the very end, despite the tension that grows between them with each passing day. Their chances of success are slim, and if they do succeed, they will not return as the same person. If they return at all. ***book 1 of three*** ***this book is related to my other book, Heart of the Winter King, as it takes place in the same universe, but it can be read without it***

Now rewritten and available in paperback on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08PJM3C9L A city of beasts. A black fog. A portal to hell. Demons roaming the streets. When Palethorn was covered in a thick, black fog, anyone who entered never returned. Now Sir Alexander is tasked with entering the fog, traveling the city, and putting an end to the demons once and for all. Joined by Alexander is a small group of survivors. Some of the monsters of Palethorn have managed to escape during the demon invasion, and lie hiding in the sewers under the city, waiting for the nightmare to end. Birdmen, bugmen, lizards and kobolds gather underground, hoping to assist the humans in vanquishing the demons from their home. Dragons roam the outskirts of the city, offering a glimpse of hope for the people of the city. Some powerful beasts oppose the forces of hell. Originally rated mature, but after getting this added to various smut lists I removed the mature tag. The opening is tame, but there's some serious violence later on. This story was inspired by other works such as Dark Souls and D&D.

Fear the dark. Bar the doors. Don't breathe a word. Wait for the Hooded Men to save you. The people of Nictaven live in fear of the night; governed by magic no one save a few can control, in a land plagued by demons and cannibal tribes, and isolated from all other worlds for centuries, they're right to. Only the Unspoken, a secretive guild of warriors linked with the land and its magic, provide any safety when darkness falls. For centuries, it has stayed like this. But in an abandoned crypt worlds away, Jordan Haverford is about to change that. It wasn't quite the holiday he had been hoping for. Plunged into a world where who you are and what you believe can kill you, a world of demons and knives in the dark and wars fought from behind the doors of the rich, Jordan's gentle Oxford upbringing isn't quite sufficient preparation. Instantly a pawn in a deadly game, separated from his sister and watched from the shadows by an assassin with a vendetta, he finds himself in the company of an Unspoken who has an uncanny knack for finding the Gifted - and Jordan can't seem to get rid of him. "How did you find this place?" Zia asked the King, speaking for the first time since entering the tent. "I've been searching for the location of your Headquarters for months- years, really." Donathan admitted. "We only found it when we got wind that two new recruits would be coming here today. My men tailed them here this morning and sent for me as soon as they were certain of the location." The tent was silent. Finally Arch said thoughtfully, "You say you come to negotiate?" The King nodded. "Very well, then," Arch said, "I will oblige. If I do answer your plea, can I insure that this camp and all those who live in it will remain protected and untouched?" Donathan nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, I believe you can." "And," he went on, "can I trust that this place will remain secret to the outside world?" "My men are sworn into secrecy," the King assured him. Arch fell silent once again. This quiet seemed to last longer than all the others. Zia wanted to know what he would say, and His Highness and Jay appeared to be in the same boat. "Very well, then," Arch said, stretching forth his hand for the King to shake. "When shall we sort out the details?" Cover made by the incredibly talented @italychick
