Dragon-riders have a tough life. Hard as it may be, Petra loves every bit of it. Racing comes naturally to her and her faithful dragon, and she wouldn't trade it for anything. However, if things don't start going her way, she might be out of the races forever- and into an even more difficult life that will begin with losing everything she loves. Lukas, on the other hand, wants out. He never wanted to be a racer, and forced into the life by unfortunate circumstances. He thinks he's finally found an escape, in a risky deal with an untrustworthy character. Both of them have a desperate need to win, but there's only one chance for one of them to get what they want. They both think they're willing to take it. But when secrets are revealed and deep feelings are discovered, it's not as black-and-white as they both wish it was.
