"That doesn't make sense-" "She's the one they were following. But they found you too, and they changed their target. I don't know why." His eyes flicked over my face, his tone shifting. "Unless... unless they know what you are." I took a sharp step back, panic clawing at my throat. "You don't know anything about me." "No," he said quietly. "But I want to." The way he said it made my pulse stutter. His voice was aching. And then, he grew softer, "When I found you, I thought you were just a human. I tried to tell myself you were. But my wolf..." He stopped, dragging in a rough breath. "He knows you. He recognized you before I even saw your face." "What are you even saying," I shook my head, heart racing. "You're insane."
