It's the 1930's. 19 year old Marinette Dupain-Cheng's family is feeling the negative impacts of the Great Depression on their small bakery. Adrien Agreste's family, however, is not feeling the sting of the crisis. This causes Adrien, a rising actor, to suffer emotionally rather than financially due to the struggles of those around him.
