This starts of differently, having hiccup not know that Stoick the vast is his dad, and has been raised by Gobber. He also is friends with astrid at the start, and it will get romantic in the end. By the way, he doesn't know who shot down toothless, so it hides a twist. All these characters belong to Cressida Cowell and Dreamworks.
