Nkasi's mother: "If I had not married an Osu, i will not be going through what I am going through today" she blurted out. Nkasi's father was stunned by what his ears were hearing:"Obiageli, what did you just say?" he asked, calling her name, which he rarely did. Nkasi's mother moved backwards slowly, waiting to run away if her husband came towards her, because she knew that she had just insulted him. In igboland, predominantly where the Nri culture is practiced, there are two classes of people; the Osu and the Nwadiala. The Osu are those whose fore- fathers were sacrificed to gods, and made slaves. Therefore, generations after them carried the curse which was the mark of the gods. While the Nwadiala, were the free born and sons of the soil. The Osu are treated as inferior human beings in a state of permanent and irreversible disability. In most cases they reside very close to shrines and marketplaces. They are not allowed to dance, drink, hold hands, associate or have sexual relations with Nwadiala. This was the predicament of Nkasi and her family. Nkasi's mother, Obiageli was from a large family that had a lot of children, so when she defiled her family, they just ostracized her. But in worst cases, the Osu who wanted to marry a freeborn stood the risk of death, as the family members of the freeborn could go to any length to remove the insult they felt. Nkasi's father picked up an axe that was lying around and ran after his wife, who ran away, screaming on the top of her voice. An Osu could kill for being called an Osu to the face, so at this moment, Nkasi's father was not himself, all he could think about, was his own wife calling him an Osu to his face. The worst part of the situation is that the villagers, who were coming back from their day's activities, saw the husband pursuing his wife with an axe and pretended not to see; they had no business with the Osu. Nkasi's father's anger did not get spent, until he caught up with his wife and swung the axe.

Faith's once pristine schoolgirl uniform were stained with a myriad of red hues. Blood spurted forth from her lips like water from a fountain. Faith's throat had been torn asunder. "E-Ezara, he's got the others. Hurry!" The sheer terror in the mortally wounded witch's words, had the vampire clutching her rose even tighter against her chest. "If you think I'm leaving you behind, you're out of your little witchy mind. We'll save the others and make him pay for this, my bloody rose." When Faith Collins' childhood friend, Kyle Johnson, gets sent to a boarding school for the best and brightest students in the nation, she can't help but worry. Especially considering that Spero Academy houses both human and supernatural students, something they've been trained to fight against since their monster-hunting parents first adopted them. She can feel the fear in his bones as if it were her own, and she knows that if she doesn't convince her parents to enroll her at Spero, her dreams of a cold grave marker with Kyle's name on it will be more than a nightmare. It will be a reality. But upon her arrival, her cover as a human student get blown to smitheries, placing a target on her back. Because soon, witches all over the school start coming up missing, and all signs point to Ezara Rose, an ethereally beautiful vampire who hides her dark origins behind a veil of sexual innuendo and her Queen Bee status. Neither can ignore the attraction brewing between them any more than they can deny that giving in might cause Faith's demise. And as bodies start piling up like breadcrumbs, Faith knows that she must follow them if she wants to save herself and find out what really happened to Kyle that night.

Caged against the wall, I tried to escape but he held my face, slowly tilting my chin to force me to look at his divine face, which was radiating, illuminating luminescent moonlight. It was impossible to look away. Trying to breathe again and ignoring the yells of my heart to brisk away off my ribcage, I visibly gulped and said, in my tiny voice which betrayed me, "Nash, you're trying to fix the impossible. My heart is broken to infinity." His warm chocolate eyes moved from my own and gazed intently at my parted lips. His eyes gleaming with hope and something entirely else which I've never seemed to notice. He said, in that same soothing yet husky tone of his, not before smirking, "Then I'll go beyond infinity and bring back your whole heart." "I hate you, you know that right?" I replied, with a smile on my face and heartbeats that are not going to stop in forever. 【 A captivating teen fiction comprising every drama in teen fiction, happiness, sadness, friendship, jealousy, betrayals and LOVE】 "When he left Ashes"©HimaniWrites on wattpad.
