Virgil was already a freak, or what is more commonly known as an outcast for having heightened anxiety. If that weren't bad enough, he has telekinetic powers. What would have happened if the others kept bullying Virgil? Long answer short; A nightmare. Virgil grew bitter, and finally his anger took over. Maybe if he fit in more with the others things would be better, but he wasn't going to change anytime soon. It seemed the only answer was to change the others.
