This is my first story. I've never been proud of my writing, and I don't intend to start any time soon. This story is about someone I let go. At the time I thought I was doing it for them, to protect them and keep them safe...from me. What I didn't know is that I was subconsciously doing it for me. Now my mind is replete with images of her face every day, all the time. My thoughts are filled with regret, as tears of pain and guilt fall from my tired eyes. This story is about someone I loved. Someone who made me feel that warm fuzzy feeling inside. The one who painted a smile on my usually emotionless face. The one who made me happy. The one who gave me a reason for being.
