Sometimes taking the short cut through the alley way isn't a great idea. Sometimes you meet your worst nightmare. Inhuman creatures stalk the night and they aren't always pretty. There are human beings who live on without souls, existing as anomalies in this world. They should no longer be alive, and yet, they are. Due to the paradoxical nature of their existence, they wield powers not unlike those of espers. Most of these people, appropriately called 'soulless', use their newfound powers for their own gain, putting others at risk of injury or death just so they can profit. Enter Shoko Urabe, who, unlike the other soulless, use her powers as a force of good in a world filled with evil. With both the police force and the other soulless after her, she must quickly learn to master her newfound ability or face the reality of death. But she is not alone, however. With the help of her reluctant childhood friend, the two embark on a journey to discover the source of this anomaly.
