Thranduil is often seen as a cold, hard, uncaring elf who is incapable of feeling love. In reality, he is broken inside from the loss of his wife, and never learned to deal with it properly, burying his emotions deep within himself and not allowing himself to feel anything at all. When he finds a girl with remarkable abilities, will she be able to heal his wounds? Will he learn to have faith in others again? A village is attacked, leaving only one survivor. Forced to flee for her life, she ends up in Mirkwood. There she meets a handsome elf - King Thranduil. As darkness encroaches ever so slowly on Mirkwood, will they be able to find the source, and stop it, before it's too late?

Asachiel is a young elf who has exiled herself from her old life in Greenwood. Now a dark mystery threatens the village of men she has been living in. Her only option is to return to the elfen realm and beg the handsome yet cold and strong-willed king Thranduil to rescue the villagers and assist her in finding out what is going on. However, they have a shared past, and things don't go quite as planned.
