After the Revolution of 1864 in Kyoto, unfamous Ex-Hitokiri Battōusai, Kenshin Himura, wanders the streets of Hokkaido with his now reversed blade on his hip, and an intention of protecting the country's citizens. The 22 year old wanderer saunters down the streets with no home, no food or water, and certainly no people he could call his 'Comrades'.
