I looked at my brother, not believing a word he said. A witch turned him and my five other brothers into swans? Impossible. But then again, I had just seen the obvious evidence right in front of my eyes. I had just watched six swans fly through the window, blow each other off and turn into my brothers! I had to do something. "How can I fix it?" I stated, to the surprise of my brothers. "It's too much Soph!" "Tell me." "You can neither talk or laugh for the next six years. You must knit each of us a shirt of starwort. One small sound out of your mouth and it will all be for nothing. Are you sure you want to do that?" "If it means I'll have a family again, then yes." Suddenly, each of my brothers were surrounding me in a massive hug. And then they flew away, leaving me speechless and wondering what in the world Starwort was.

Based on the Grimm's fairy tale "The Six Swans." Princess Amelie (Amie) has no use for the stuffy life of royalty and is constantly getting into trouble for her stubborn rejection of it. After her small romance with a peasant boy is discovered, Amie is sent away to live with her crabby, no-nonsense grandmother to be disciplined. When her grandmother (who is secretly a witch) transforms her six brothers into swans as part of her scheme to seize the throne, Amie must use both her independent instincts and her learned royal behaviors to save her family and her kingdom.
