I was gone for like two years and forgot this book existed so i'm gonna redo this cause it looked terrible before Midoryia, at the ripe old age of 14, decides life isn't for everyone. When in the original All Might saves him, here, he has no heroes. But he gets a second chance, a way to live through his friend turned bully, as Bakugo attempts to navigate the hero world all while the guilt of his old best friends suicide ways on him like a boulder. Slow updates and inconsistent writing style are just part of my charm:) i'm probably going to forget this book exists agin lmao

Izuku Midoriya is a 13-year-old middle schooler. to everyone, Izuku seems like the perfect kid; he gets straight A's, he has a cool quirk, he's rich, he's good looking, and he has a good family... or at least everyone thinks. let's back up a little. In actuality, Izuku has experienced crime after crime; trauma after trauma. when Izuku was only 10 years old, he had been a witness to something so sick and sadistic that it would break any grown man, let alone a child. he had witnessed his parents murder. when they had died, they left him their enormous fortune. once he had witnessed his parents' death, he had started wearing masks to cover his mouth and nose. he had also stopped talking, too. every time he heard himself speak, it reminded him of his father's voice. he also had his mother's nose and mouth shape. seeing or hearing himself repulsed him. he couldn't handle the way he remembered their bloody bodies, the life draining from their eyes as their skin paled. their eyes shedding their last tears and their barely audible whispers to him. he couldn't remember their last words. he couldn't remember much of the night.

Deku is quirkless but also kind of really not. His quirk has death activation, and when re wakes up after dying, his quirk remolds itself to relate to how he died. He keeps each quirk as he dies. The more he dies, the more powerful he is. The more painful the death, the more emotionless he becomes. Quirk exhaustion comes in the form of emotional loss. Only natural reactions and natural responses will remain after 300 deaths. That number came a lot sooner than it should have. Or alternatively: Izu loves his dad, his dad would burn the world for him, All Might is absolutely screwed, karma's a bitch and Izuku's quirk might actually take over the world unintentionally.
