***All Credits To Elizabeth Gaskell*** When her father leaves the Church in a crisis of conscience, Margaret Hale is uprooted from her comfortable home in Hampshire to move with her family to the north of England. Initially repulsed by the ugliness of her new surroundings in the industrial town of Milton, Margaret becomes aware of the poverty and suffering of the local mill workers and develops a passionate sense of social justice. This is intensified by her tempestuous relationship with the mill-owner and self-made man, John Thornton, as their fierce opposition over his treatment of his employees masks a deeper attraction. In North and South, Elizabeth Gaskell skillfully fuses individual feeling with social concern, and in Margaret Hale creates one of the most original heroines of Victorian literature.

A guide to Regency England for readers of classic literature or historical fiction set in the early 19th century. England, as it was in the early 1800's, can sometimes be as confusing to a modern reader as travelling to a foreign country. Their clothes, manners, methods of transport, money and even some words they used can be unfamiliar to us today. I hope this book will grow into a helpful source of reference for any reader who is exploring the classic authors, like Jane Austen and Maria Edgeworth, or enjoying the wide range of early 19th century set historical stories found here at Wattpad.

When Jessica Lyons is offered the role of Elizabeth Bennet in Pride & Prejudice, it feels like fate has handed her the chance to find her own Mr. Darcy. All Jess really wants is to meet an old-fashioned guy who's thoughtful, honest and polite-a real gentleman, just like those romantic heroes in Jane Austen's novels. If he happens to be wearing a tailcoat and figure-hugging breeches she'd consider that a bonus. But in a world where everyone is pretending to be someone else, the line between reality and fiction is never as clear as you expect. Note: This story is a *Work in Progress*. The chapters I'll be posting are edited drafts, and I don't have a set posting schedule at present. Once the story is complete I will be able to update on a more regular basis.
