This is a poem about racism. It was inspired by my school's magazine from a few years back and I read a short story about an Indian boy who was bullied by other students of different race, not just Whites, but Hispanics and African-Americans too. He wrote about how he would walk down the hall and other kids would call him, a "terrorist" because of how he looked and what race he was. In anger, I wrote this poem to express my thoughts on his situation and what I believe. I, myself, am Hispanic and am ashamed to read about such behavior from people who look like me. If I could talk to that boy, I'd tell him that I was sorry. Not for him but for the situation he was plagued with everyday.
