They had two options: Ignore the note and go make out in their new hot tub; or find Vincenzo and figure out what the hell was going on. That was when he offered her to join his "family of freaks" although he didn't use that exact wording. Since she was all alone and had no other family to go to, she agreed. Turns out, she made the right choice. Especially when Darren Shan arrives, that's when she realized her story was just beginning.
