No one died in the killing game and everyone was able to escape after an all out war with Monokuma. The 16 students where successful in defeating the principle of the school. Kokichi Ouma suffered from major trauma from the war that happened between all of them. During a ptsd episode that he had in his sleep Kokichi accidentally killing half of the students majority being females. He was then later locked into a mental facility. After years of total solitude Kokichi slowly lost his mind. From there the people in charge of the place felt he needed a psychiatrist. Who knows if he will change for better or for worse. Kokichi Ouma is dead, and unaware of it, still living in his house as a spirit. He notices the change in behavior of his parents as well as Saihara. Upset over his friends absence from his life Kokichi goes to Saihara's house to check on him. Once there Kokichi finds a very anguished Saihara lying on his bed crying kokichi tries to ask him whats wrong but Saihara can't hear him. Siahara goes to sleep and Kokichi some how menages to travel inside the dream. Kokichi Ouma is a victim of this rare disease called; Hanahaki. Even if the flowers are beautiful, it makes him suffocate. Each passing month, weeks and now even days, his health deteriorates. Once Kokichi laid eyes on a particular detective, he fell hard. It physically hurts him seeing his crush fall for someone else.

Ouma had lived a happy life until his boyfriend Saihara had died in a car crash. Now all alone and despaired, Ouma finds it harder and harder to find a reason to get up in the morning. But one day, during one visit to the cemetery, he finds a ring that will change his life forever...
