As a kid all izuku wanted was to be a hero, save people from the good of his heart and be recognized as someone who cared. Reality had punched him in the gut when he was proclaimed quirkless, and he might as well have been stabbed in the heart when his idol All Might told him he had no hope at being a hero. His mind couldn't handle the stress and sadness, and in a way he lost himself that day. Young kindhearted izuku, no longer was able to break past the empty shell he was now. He was imprisoned in his own mind and there was no hope of return. What if when All Might had told Izuku he couldn't become a hero, Izuku lost all hope?
