"I lost touch with the world, hiding away in the shadows of my bedroom, but I did have one friend: an imaginary spirit dressed in black. He had no name, yet was always present... But when I became an adult, I realised that my friend wasn't just a figment of my imagination. Its name was Death. And it was everywhere." • • • • • The remote Island of Ketterwick, somewhere just off the coast of Northern Ireland, was renowned for many things: stunning scenery, quaint towns, and a solitary individual named Ardál Hughes. Many myths surrounded him and many made up as ghost stories to warn children away from his fraying (and supposedly haunted) house. But there two things that did haunt Ardál- the passing of his mother, Ina, and a black cloaked figure called Death. Death knew everything. It knew who was going to die and the exact moment they were going to do so. And Death knows what happened the day the life was drained from Ina's sick body and failing heart. But, for Ardál, learning the truth to put his mind at rest will come at a high price... • • • • • Started: Sunday 24th March 2019 Published: Wednesday 17th April 2019 Finished: -

Jackson Lewis just moved to Arkadia, New York for their job, all the way across the country, after their previous, homophobic, asshole of a supervisor pinned an explosive accident on them. They don't expect to find anything interesting in the small city, resolved to just living out their life in their studio apartment. They don't expect to be drawn to the gorgeous owner of the River Cafe, and and they don't expect to also be drawn to the woman's wife as well. Luna River had left her country in search of reprieve from her duties, and in search of forgiveness she could not give herself. Being the leader of such a powerful state, above all except the Commander of the country, had gone to her head and proved disastrous. So she ran, changed her name, taught herself English, and opened a cafe. She adopted a young orphan from her state, met a woman who wormed her way into their lives, and was adamant about keeping their lives quiet and safe in Arkadia, where she could do no harm. She doesn't expect a person to randomly start coming to the cafe daily, she doesn't expect to be drawn to them, and she doesn't expect for them to become an important factor in her small family's day-to-day lives. Raven Reyes may be a genius, but finding mechanical work that wasn't fixing cars in this city she loved proved difficult. So she fixed cars, and all the other types of vehicles that broke down in the city and rolled into her shop. When she wasn't fixing cars, she was fixing appliances at her girlfriend's cafe, or taking their kid to school, or helping her with homework. She was living the simple life, enjoying herself, loving her family. She doesn't expect to meet this person who is so enamored with her girlfriend (who Luna is also enamored with), and she doesn't expect to be equally enamored with them. They certainly don't expect to be thrown suddenly into the midst of some weird adventure when mysterious people keep following them all around.
