XCOM fanfiction. All core elements come from the game Xcom Enemy Unknown and extra content provided through DLC and mods (mainly Long War). Also has elements from Xenonauts Humans have wondered if one day they would encounter alien life. They wonder what would they look like, how they would behave, if they are intelligent or not? One day extraterrestrial activity on Earth spiked. What was once a couple of secretive cover-ups turned into a full-scale invasion. Local militaries were capable of fending off attacks but humanity could not easily unite to deal with this threat. Instead, the nations of Earth all came together in one room the Council of Nations and created the most elite military and scientific organization in human history, tasked with defending them from the alien attack. It was called the Extraterrestrial Combat Unit or XCOM.

He wanted to live a normal life. She never had one to begin with. One had the freedom to experience life to its fullest. The other felt like a parasite. Fate seemed to have few additional pieces left over to bring change to their lives. That is...until they discovered that fate does not always give your final pieces to you.
