When Helena finds a phone on the night train, she decides to text the first number in the list of contacts in order to figure out who it belongs to. ***** Helena Santos hasn't had the easiest life. At twenty-one, she's the legal guardian of her teenage sister, in the final year of her nursing degree, and working night shifts at her small-town's local bar. And things get a lot more complicated when she finds a phone on the train home and decides to text the first number in the list of contacts, in hopes of tracking down its owner. That contact? Adam Bauer; the charismatic, sweet, and refreshingly honest older brother of the person who lost their phone. As the two continue talking, they can't ignore the chemistry and growing feelings between them, but life is never that simple. To make things work, Helena and Adam need to juggle a troubled sister, a meddlesome ex-boyfriend, and one fat lawsuit - all intent on keeping them apart. "Choose Lizzie! You're just playing with my feelings." He said , looking pained and hurt. Seeing him like that , hurt me just as much. I couldn't manage to even form a sentence , I just couldn't be coherent with everything going on. I felt a tear roll down my cheek and wiped it off. "Aaron , can't you see she is in no condition to answer you?! Let's give her time. " Luke broke the silence and gave me an apologetic smile. Aaron swinged his fist right at Luke's nose. I was startled and instinctively rushed and stood before Luke , protecting him. Aaron cursed under his breath , backing away. "Just go away Lizzie! I really don't need this. I don't want to see you. Just go!!!" the anger in his voice , and the look on his face made it pretty clear that he couldn't bare the sight of me or Luke. Within seconds , Luke was dragging me with him , his hand tight on my wrist. Luke let go of my hand as soon as we were out of the school ground. "I love you Liz. I want to be with you , I really do. I didn't fight Aaron back there , just for you." He said before he left , not expecting a reply. I realised that I'd eventually have to choose. How was I going to do that? I was twice as broken and hurt as the two of them , I was clueless and blank , my head messed up and my heart , broken , Again.
