That didn't mean he wasn't going to watch over her and make sure she stayed out of trouble. Kagome really didn't know who's attention she had acquired.

Kagome looked down at the child who had a grip on her skirt; this was the second time she had seen him. Bending down she gave him a smile, then the little kid asked something she never expected, "Will you be my mommy?"

When the well decides to go haywire, Kagome can only go along with the ride...but the people she meets along the way start to happen she can't help but wonder if Midoriko had something to do with it.
