After undergoing a transformation Mal starts to feel unsure she wants to live in Auradon when she confronts her friends no one but Carlos understands. Throughout their childhood Mal has only seen Carlos as the spunky kid who was afraid of dogs. But she starts to see him more than a friend and is convinces Ben likes her when she is not being herself. She dyes her hair back purple and starts to become herself and Ben doesn't like this. Carlos having his own feelings for Mal since they were little starts to embrace these feelings. But Mal stills like Ben but starts to develop feelings Carlos along the way.

Mal and Carlos are finally dating and its summer in Auradon. Evie is in a love triangle with Ben and Doug and spends her free time with Dizzy to show her more of Auradon. Mal now that she's the princess of the Isle has been improving it. Lonnie is now on the R.O.A.R thanks to the guys petitioning. Carlos gives Jay relationship advice when he goes on his first date. Gil and Harry have gone soft and are becoming more Auradon everyday. Deep beneath the sea Uma plans to get revenge.
