I glanced upward and spotted a little girl around my age with long mint green pigtails and bright eyes that seemed to shift from lapis lazuli to violet smiling at me. She extended the sand castle mold to me with a shy smile. "Aren't you afraid of me?" I asked her curiously as I reached for the sand castle mold.
