After the defeat of the Book of Monsters, everyone thought life was back to normal for the better. But when Clay and Jestro start having terrible nightmares, they realise that destroying the one thing that held the soul of Monstrox may have unleashed something dangerous.

All of the nexo knights have been living in peace after the destruction of the Colossus, well all except one. Clay stopped sleeping and when he does he only sleeps for an hour because of nightmares about his mother and sometimes he just gets angry and does not know why. Merlock and the knights are worried about him but every time they ask him about it he just brushes it off. And one day, when they are in a fight with some monsters Clay gets kidnapped by his mother and Monstrox and things turn to the worst.

"You're the thief?!?!" "And what? It's not like someone would actually care." "Please! Just come back, I care" "I don't believe you. You and I always had a rough relation, fighting every day, why would you care?" "I only fought with you, because that was the only way, we could be close to each other without anyone being annoyed. Clay was frozen along with Ruina many years ago. They both came to life when the Cloud of Monstrox zapped them. Clay didn't turn evil. Instead, he ran off into hiding in fear of his mother and the monsters surrounding him. Several months after the defeat of the Colossus, the knights get reports of a thief in the village of Dnullib. When they find him, they begin a journey with a family member of their friend that they never knew about.
