As I write this letter to you, all I have to say is... I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I lied to all three of you. Living a life of lies has taught me that it comes with a price, and now I'm paying it. My name IS Rena Deveraux; that wasn't a lie. But I never wanted to be a Ranger... That's not why I was at the Ranger School. I am so, so sorry that I lied to you, but the truth is... I'm a thief. And you...you were my assignment, and I was to think of you as nothing more than that. It wasn't personal, I promise you. It was just business. I thought I could outrun the law my whole life and never get caught. Never did I once think that the law applied to me, or that my actions would catch up to me one day. It never crossed my mind...not even once. I was so confident, which made my downfall inevitable. I left my back turned for one second and I lost it all. No words can describe the feeling I get when I look at your face... That look of pain, and sadness... Your eyes are filled with nothing but hate and disdain when they meet my gaze. Honestly, I'm surprised that you haven't killed me for what I've done to you. I'm afraid this is the end, and I will never see you again. You can hate me for the rest of your life. I understand... What I did to you is unforgivable, and I don't deserve your forgiveness. I don't deserve to see your smile ever again. My biggest regret is that I will never get to properly say good-bye to you. So, I must do it in this letter. Good-bye, my Prince Charming. I will never forget you. Take care of Rhythimi and Isaac for me, and please...apologize to them on my behalf, since I can't do it myself. Oh, and one more thing, Keith. Assuming that you didn't just tear this letter up upon receiving it, I just wanted to say... I've told you a lot of lies since the moment we first met... But my feelings for you were never one of them. {Pokémon Ranger Shadows of Almia fanfiction; cover art was just photoshopped by me}

Monsters lurk in the corners of our minds. They prowl and snarl at any sense of happiness, ushering in a darkness with each step they take. These creatures take on many different forms to slowly tear us apart. Some tether us to our beds, refusing to let us walk under the beautiful sun. Some of them suffocate us in crowds, their claws tearing at our throats with a crowing laugh ringing in our ears. For Kate Hitomi, Hero of Almia, vanquisher of shadows, and bringer of light.. Her mind is nothing but darkness. Ever since she was young the monsters have manifested themselves as nightmares. However they are worse than they've ever been. Kate can't close her eyes without screams rising in her chest, her entire body trembling and laced in a cold sweat. It kills her friends to see her like this. But what can they do? Keith can only hold her as she cries. Rhythmi can only listen with their hands intertwined. The fight is no longer tangible, or as easy to capture a raging pokémon. For the war rages within Kate's mind. (Vatonageshipping, Shadows of Almia Fanfiction. Cover art was edited by me, but actual art was not drawn by me. Sylvia has made the tough choice of joining Team Miasma after the Castelia City Crisis in order to save Unova from Team Oblivion. Her choice cost Sylvia her morals, her freedom, and her friends. But, when a familiar face pops up and threatens Sylvia even further than Team Miasma does, the superhero has to face the toughest choice yet. A choice that could cost the hero more than anyone can imagine. Will Sylvia be able to make the right decision this time, or will she make another grave mistake like she did the last few times? It all comes down to the final battle between good and evil, one of which only Sylvia can fight. This is the final book to the Swanna Girl and Braviary Man trilogy. Team Miasma is the new threat that looms over Unova many years after Team Plasma has been disbanded. Their reasoning for causing terror is unknown, but it's nothing the brave, Braviary Man, can't handle. Just don't talk to Sylvia about it. She's always found the idea of a superhero more troubling than ever. Instead of traveling around, Sylvia spends her days helping Nurse Joy heal Pokémon, but that will soon change the day she actually faces Team Miasma for the first time. Now, Sylvia must make a choice: stay with the life she knows or become an Unova superhero like Braviary Man to stop Team Miasma because they will stop at nothing until they've reached their goals. Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon, just the idea and a few characters like Sylvia, Rudi, Rena, and the concept of Team Miasma. Rated PG 13 as some scenes may not settle well with younger viewers.
