"Don't," she pleaded. Her pale, sveltely body shook in the bitter New York wind as her eyes, a spectrum of different colors stared solemnly at the man before her. Letting her scraggly fingers gently grip the blue linen textile, she once again begged, "Don't leave me." The violet-orange hues of the dawn skyline coated their entangled bodies, casting an angelic and chroma gleam onto them. Rough, calloused hands weaved themselves into her wafer-thin locks while soft lips osculated the brunette crest. "I won't," he whispered, enabling himself to take in her familiar herbal scent. Lifting her chin, he stared into the kaleidoscope eyes he came to cherish. "Not now, not ever," he breathed, placing a chaste kiss onto her awaiting lips, "I'll be with you from dusk till' dawn."

At twenty-one, she's the legal guardian of her teenage sister, in the final year of her nursing degree, and working night shifts at her small-town's local bar. And things get a lot more complicated when she finds a phone on the train home and decides to text the first number in the list of contacts, in hopes of tracking down its owner. That contact? Adam Bauer; the charismatic, sweet, and refreshingly honest older brother of the person who lost their phone. As the two continue talking, they can't ignore the chemistry and growing feelings between them, but life is never that simple. To make things work, Helena and Adam need to juggle a troubled sister, a meddlesome ex-boyfriend, and one fat lawsuit - all intent on keeping them apart.
