❝When I met you . . . you're the first person in my life, besides my family, that treated me like a regular human being. You're my first friend and my best friend. I would be lying if I said meeting you wasn't most the most important day of my life. And the one that would end up eventually ruining it.❞-Annalise Martin. Annalise Martin's skies are painted darkly, filled with darkness from a life many would not wish to lead. Through a series of letters, Annalise hopes to find closure over losing her best friend and lover, Finland Erickson. But sometimes, we need a little bit of perspective to paint our own skies. "WE SHALL FIGHT ON THE BEACHES, WE SHALL FIGHT ON THE LANDING GROUNDS" It was right there. It was right in front of them, teasing them by sitting just beyond their reach on the horizon. It was like you could blink and you would be there - you would be home. "WE SHALL FIGHT IN THE FIELDS AND IN THE STREETS" But the bombs reminded them. The fighter planes flew constantly overhead. Each time gunshots ensued, they grew further and further away from home, and they were reminded of the truth. "WE SHALL FIGHT IN THE HILLS" Kris and all other 400,000 soldiers around her were trapped - lined up along the beach of Dunkirk like waiting targets for the Germans. All they could do was wait at the shore with their heads filled with explosions and their eyes on the distant horizon - their hearts on home. "WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER" + based on the movie DUNKIRK + short story/fanfiction + completed + unedited

(ENGLISH VERSION) "We're not allowed to see anyone, just us. Not talking to anyone, just us: Lucem." Life is difficult, and even more without adults; us, children, were sent to a different world up in the sky an divided us into two different categories, two different places but still forming one world: The Dream World. It wasn't much of a dream, it was supposed to shield us from the disastrous world we, humans, ended up living in. But I don't feel that way, it crumbles apart every second we're standing on it, no one seems to notice, they're happy with their life, but I know the truth and I'm willing to do something about it.

"Then do it." June challenged, watching Flame's eyebrows shoot up. "I don't think you're as tough as you want everyone to think. You want to hurt me? Do it." The fire in her hand grew, and June watched it with bated breath. She was inviting the town's best known villain to do whatever she wanted with her. It was a dangerous move, and she was scared, but a large part of her trusted that she wouldn't get hurt. The same person who ratted herself out every week would not kill her. They stared at each other. Despite all her talk, Flame seemed hesitant to make the first move. It calmed June just enough to let her guard down, which proved to be a mistake when Flame reached out with her other hand, twirling some of June's hair around her finger. "You're awfully brave." Flame murmured, not looking up at her. June's eyes stayed locked on the hand that was still on fire in front of her. She felt entranced by the way the flames licked up her wrist, not catching her sleeve on fire but not melting it, either. June chanced a glance at her face, just to see if she looked like she was in pain, but when she met the other girl's eyes, she saw only amusement. Cover by @peachspit
