Un joc excelent trebuie să aibă toate cele trei elemente de mai sus și încă ceva în plus. Last of the Heroes, la apariția sa, nu întrunea niciuna dintre condițiile care l-ar fi putut clasifica drept un joc bun. Cu timpul, însă, compania producătoare, Arc Games Entertainment, i-a adus tot felul de îmbunătățiri, scoțându-l astfel din anonimat. Devenind un joc bunicel, acesta a început să se răspândească pe tot globul, aducând companiei profituri tot mai mari. La scurt timp după ce Marc Evans își creează cont și începe să joace Last of the Heroes, el trece prin câteva experiențe îngrozitoare: devine martorul unor scene macabre, în care oamenii sunt omorâți în fața lui de către un individ ascuns în spatele unei mantii negre.
